Life is connections and causes you never see coming. The story of five friends confronted with failed dreams and fantasy lives. Learning to deal with traumas to their minds, bodies, and ideals.

“…by the legendary Montreal-based artist Salgood Sam has been called “neo-realist,” but it might be more accurately referred to as “honest.” It follows the seemingly unrelated lives of five young adults in contemporary Canada, detailing everything from call-centres to drug-smugglers. It’s a stellar graphic novel…” – Joel W. Vaughan

“I couldn’t put this down. Seriously. It’s a keeper. Salgood Sam has one of the most interesting, unique voices in comics today.” – Mark Waid

“Salgood Sam is a gifted draftsman. In Dream Life you can see he’s enjoying himself immensely drawing every page of this sprawling story. Beautiful stuff.” – Joe Ollmann

“…a compelling story terrifically told and beautifully drawn… Salgood Sam’s powerful virtuosic graphic novel Dream Life.” – Jim Woodring

Working in comics professionally I was always frustrated by the limitations, and lack of vision possible in the work. I started working on the idea that became this book, in the midst of that period, and used the project as an exercises in learning to write for over 10 years before I ever started to think it would be something I’d actaully finish and publish. But in time, it grew and matured into something I thought worthwhile.

In 2014 I ran a kickstarter to publish book one, and successfully launched it and toured it around the great lakes area. Everyone who’s read it has come back to me with a smile and eager to know when the rest will be done. I’m working on it! Plans are in place to begin book two in the summer of 2017, but in the meantime you can own book one today! Order it direct from me here to get the best deal!

The book was also completed with the generous aid of grants from Canada Council for the Arts!
